A promise, not a feature
There won't need to be a camera or microphone in a rembient home. This isn't a decision about this version, it's the promise the product is built on.
In plain terms
What we collect, and why each thing is there.
Movement in rooms, with times
A sensor notes that something moved in the hallway at 7:12am. This is what lets the system learn a household's normal week and notice when today is well outside it.
Doors opening and closing
The front door, the fridge, a cupboard. Doors are the clearest everyday signal that ordinary life is happening, without anything intrusive.
Whether an appliance drew power
Whether the kettle went on, not what was made. Appliance use is one of the strongest indicators that someone is up and about.
What the system inferred, and what you did about it
Which alerts were sent, who picked them up, and who dismissed them as nothing. During the pilot this is how we learn where the system is wrong.
Not collected: images, audio, health data
No video, no stills, no recordings, no indoor or outdoor positioning, no medical or medication records. Nothing is sold, and nothing is shared with an advertiser, insurer or data broker.
The carer group sees the same thing
Everyone caring sees the same signals, visibility isn't rationed between siblings, and there's no private view.
It's the family's data
The carer group holds the account. During the pilot, we use data to improve the system and for nothing else.
Formal documentation is in progress
A full privacy policy and data-handling documentation are being written now and are not published yet. Rembient holds no privacy certification, no security accreditation and no regulatory approval, and we're not going to imply otherwise while we're at validation stage. What's on this page is the commitment we're working to.
